I spent several years creating ads for newspapers. These ads were
almost always sent out to the company's owner/manager to proofread.
The typos that most often got by them were in their names, company
names, addresses, and phone numbers. People nearly always see
what they expect to see. Another person is crucial to effective
proofreading. Yet, if you hand your resume to your spouse or a
friend, chances are they'll look at your name and see what they
expect to be there, too.
