Michael...

I see no problem with writing it that way. The only alternative I can think of
is:

"The host computer will move the data from the cache module to one or more
drives."

What would be the significance of losing the word "proper"?

I've been unable to locate any definitive answers from the Techwr-l archives or
CMS. I include the following sentence in a software manual:
"The host computer will move the data from the cache module to the proper
drive(s)."

Comment: It is unknown whether the user is using one drives or multiple drives.

Question: is it proper to use (s)? If not, what are other structures seem
appropriate?

Thanks in advance for any insights you may have.
