The bottom line is, the Java Virtual Machine has to be around
someplace or you can't run a Java program. In that way, it's not like
C or C++.

Wellllll..........

Several companies make byte-code compilers which take the Java byte-codes
and turn them into native machine code, much like any other program. This
is a variant of the idea of wrapping the Java VM into the executable. But
there's not a whole lot of difference between this and C or C++.
