Here's a link to a vendor that purports to do what you're asking
for...i.e., automatic PDF hyperlinks from MS Word.
I discovered the Web reference while searching for the same kind of
capability you're seeking.
We use Word97, though, and so we haven't looked very deeply into this
product, which doesn't support Word97. So I have no way of vouching for
it, but it may well be worth investigating... (After being used to
FrameMaker's capabilities vis-a-vis PDF, it was -- still is -- very
painful for us to discover Word's lack thereof!)
