TECHNICAL WRITER POSITION OPEN AT PROCESS DYNAMICS
Process Dynamics seeks an energetic, highly motivated technical writer
to produce on-line and printed documentation for this start-up company's
first product, the Work Object System (WOS). The successful candidate
will be responsible for defining documentation needs and selecting
tools, planning, specifying, designing, writing, editing and publishing
all WOS documentation.
The Work Object System is a multi-platform client-server system built on
a distributed object-oriented database, providing unprecedented speed
and flexibility for managing business processes, tasks, documents and
virtually any other information.
Applicants for this position must have demonstrated excellent skills in
writing conceptual and procedural software documentation (printed and
online). The candidate must be detail-oriented, self-directed, flexible,
and have a proven ability to multi-task and solve problems creatively, in
addition to meeting the following minimum requirements:
o Proficiency in FrameMaker, MS Word and RoboHelp (or equivalents)
o Experience with Windows NT
o 2+ years relevant post-graduation experience in software technical
writing
o Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Technical Communications,
English, or Journalism or a certificate in Technical Writing
o Ability to research and understand technical information and to write
clear, concise software documentation for both technical and end-user
audiences
o Ability to work independently to complete documentation tasks while
working with engineers to obtain required information
o Interest in and comfort with experimenting with software
Familiarity with Visual Basic, illustration tools, documentation source
control systems, UNIX, CD-ROM creation, and writing online Help and
documentation for the WWW a plus.
Located in Bedford MA, Process Dynamics is a small, privately held
