Subject:Times for editing From:Tony_Machosky -at- STERCOMM -dot- COM Date:Wed, 7 May 1997 09:48:46 -0400
Several years back, The Editorial Eye (published by EEI Press out of
Alexandria, VA) gave some metrics for time to complete the following
editing tasks:
* Proofreading - 10 double-spaced pages per hour
* Copyediting - 5 double-spaced pages per hour
* Substantive editing - 3 double-spaced pages per hour
I've found these to be fairly reliable benchmarks for my own editing
work.
