Sorry, but I can't help but be amused over the currency questions (this is
not Senegal).
So, at the risk of being flamed, some additional anthropological
perspective on Toronto/Canada.
Language: English. To pass for a native, say "eh?" instead of "what."
Advanced users pronounce "Z" as "Zed."
Unusual customs: People walk on the streets downtown at night.
Cultural Opportunities: Learn French by reading the bilingual cereal
boxes
Currency: It may come in colours, but it is not monopoly money
Driving: Canadians drive on the right hand side of the road. American
drivers who use the British driving system are punished severely. Speed
limits are in kph, so you can think that you're going really fast!
Major Routes: To better L.A., Toronto has a penchant for double-wide
freeways, named by 4xx numbers that look all about the same when you're
whizzing by at 100K.
Power Supply: Many places have electricity, no power converters are
necessary.
Technical Writing Issues: Spelling of color vs. colour, gray vs grey?
