Subject:Need help for long Word7 Docs From:Tom Herme <therme -at- NVBELL -dot- NET> Date:Mon, 12 May 1997 21:02:48 -0700
I am working with technical manuals of 70-160 pages in Word 7. Usually I have several
chapters, each a separate file. My problem is with master document. I know that it is
very buggy, but I'm still looking for work-arounds for it, especially since we need to
include indexes. I can put up with a table of contents that gives me "missing bookmark"
errors. But I need an index and can't figure out how to do it without master document.
I can't abandon Word 7 since I'll be using Robo-Help 4.0 soon to build online help and
html content. I hear that Framemaker will solve many of these problems with Word 7, but
I still have to write the manual in Word in order to convert to online help in
Robo-Help.
Thank you for any help.
