I've been biting my tongue, too, as I wonder why employers should be
free to hire and fire whom they want, while employees shouldn't be free
to organize.

In a free society, employees should be just as free to organize as
employers are to hire whom they will. But should an employer be forced
to hire you or pay you a certain wage merely because you are a member of
a certain organization? Before you answer, put yourself in the
employer's shoes.
