Well, maybe not if you're prepared to send light
semaphore, or haul signal flags up a halyard.
Don't get too stuffy. Shrewd people see through
the pomposity. Besides, a specialist,
especially to someone with a military past,
might suggest a radar operator, or some monitor
of specialized electronic equipment.
