Paul Branchaud noted <<When a client asks for a PostScript
file, I always have problems when it is generated by the
Windows machine. The problem appears to be that my
Windows system is generating a different kind of PostScript
file (PCL), that can't be printed by many of our
clients.>>
Simple problem and simple solution: you're not generating a
postscript file, you're generating a Hewlett-Packard
"printer control language" (PCL) file. (A postscript file
would have an extension of either .eps, .ps or .prn,
depending on how you generated the file.) To fix the
problem, change to a postscript printer driver in your
control panel. Don't be embarrassed if this seems to be a
trivial answer; if you've got an HP printer equipped with
the postscript option, it's perfectly logical to assume
that the printer is generating postscript output,
particulary if you're from a Mac environment originally and
are used to working with Postscript-only printers.
