TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
A couple weeks ago I asked Eric to post something
for me about a new job opportunity. It was a bit off
the traditional tech writing path (if there is such a thing)
and I asked for your opinions.
Thanks to all who responded with words of
encouragement. You reenforced my belief that this
was a great, exciting opportunity and definately the
direction technical communication is heading.
It was a difficult decision because I also had an
opportunity to take a job managing a Tech Writing
Department. But I took the job as Software Information
Specialist instead, and a week from Monday I'll start
work putting a knowledge base online and giving
customers access to it via the Internet.
I'll be signing off the list for a little while, so I wanted
to thank you before I left.

(unaffiliated and looking forward to a week off. Woohoo ;-)
