TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I read Dave Chisma's comments on the jack bonney history and manual of
style (one sentence per paragraph, lots of lower-case, join phrases with
semi-colons, etc.) Then -- surprise, surprise! When Mike Collier posted
a snip from the ssi webpage, mr. bonney demonstrated the style for us.
Now we can see how well it works... (R-i-i-i-ght.) <sarcasm alert>
Sometimes you can learn Great Stuff from this list, and sometimes it's
good for a chuckle. This survey definitely falls in the latter category.
Of course, sometimes the list can be annoying and repetitive (insert a
"Like Real Life" metaphor of your choice), but I try to skip those bits.
