I noticed a few folks talking about bullets in connection with procedure
steps. I STRONGLY recommend against using bullets for procedure steps--
NUMBER them please. Bullets are for items in a list, which are at the
same semantic level (apples, oranges, lemons). Numbers imply sequence
(first this then that). I observe this distinction rigorously, since I
believe that readers (probably subconsciously) come to know and rely on
the distinction.
