You're kidding, right? A *corporate policy* that dictate screen resolution?
No matter what a person's job description, no matter what their needs,
users are forced to kowtow to some high mucky-muck who had way too much
time on their hands? Sheesh.

Whe working with PC software, I always advocate testing both the software
and my online Help designs at 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768. I haven't yet
seen a real need to push for testing at 1280x1024 and 1600x1200; monitors
that are large enough to display these resolutions in adequate size for
users aren't in common use--they're still way too expensive.

But there are probably still millions of video cards out there that can't
do better than 1024x768 because they have no more then 1MB of video RAM,
even now not an uncommon base option for many computers sold.
