Intranet: network performance?

Subject: Intranet: network performance?

What about network performance when everyone is using the intranet to access
the personnel database, download documents, post messages, and all the other
things mentioned in the postings about intranets? I ask because we're also
moving in that direction, and each posting has given me new ideas!

But here we also use the network for developing our software, sending email,
etc.

Can someone help me calculate this? What kind of information would you need
to do it? Or are there too many unknowns?

Thanks,

Joan Michaeli
