The following comment is from the past 'international' sales
representative for Folio Corporation, Rick Valencia. I forwarded on
several of the VIEWS questions which have appeared on this listserv. I
hope this answers your questions.

Regarding Peoplesoft, Folio is their product of choice for online doc.
For
commercial publishers, (those who market or sell information and do so
with Folio technology) pay a royalty to Folio on a quarterly basis. The
royalty is based on the retail of the publishers products. 5% for $0.00
to
$149.99 and 8% for $150.00 and up. For those with annual subscriptions
the second year is 5%. There is a minimum of $1.00 royalty fee and a
cap of $37.50 per user. So any product of $468 or more has a cap of
$37.50 royalty. If the publisher makes money, we make money.

If the software is for corporate internal use, not for commercial gain or
distribution, Folio has standard software license agreements and pricing
is based on the quantity as with most other software products.

Please forward this Folio sales number to the people that may be
confused about the pricing and licensing for Folio products. Folio sales
1(800)543-6546.
