About 2 weeks ago I asked if FrameMaker
Ver. 5.5 imported graphics embedded into
Microsoft Word files. While I failed to
get a Yes/No from a subscriber to either
the frameusers and techwr-l lists, I DID
get several requests to share what I
learned. The following is from the
August 97 ADOBE FRAME OF REFERENCE, p 10.
=====
The Adobe Solutions Sampler CD comes
standard with Adobe FrameMaker 5.5
and includes plug-ins, clip art, and much
more, created by FrameMaker developers
worldwide. Here*s a sampling of
what's included:
:
{good, but unrelated, info cut}
:
Blueberry Software: Filtrix
The Filtrix conversion package from Blueberry Software
filters text, tables, and graphics bidirectionally between
FrameMaker, Word, WordPerfect, Interleaf, and
Applixware, as well as formatted text for 17 other for-mats.

<<<<<<<<<<<<< HERE IT IS !!!! >>>>>>>>>>>

The Word-to-FrameMaker conversions retain
WMF and BMP graphics, tables, accented characters,
autonumbers, footnotes, and styles, in addition to font,
paragraph, and page formatting.

=====
Opinion: Blueberry has an excellent reputation.
The s/w probably does what Blueberry claims.
Caveat: Refer to CROSS-PLATFORM FILTERS
SUPPORTED BY FRAMEMAKER 5.5 (p. 17).
