lose/loose

quiet/quite

their/there/they're

apostrophes with plurals (Did anybody see the recent Rolling Stone cover
advertising a story on "Andy's we love?" Andy's what? Andy's eyes?
Andy's car? Andy's sense of humor? I never did find out what they loved
that belonged to Andy. I wonder how much Rolling Stone pays their copy
editors.)

loss of the "d" in "ice(d) tea," "bake(d) potato," etc.

use of a lower-case L with all other letters in caps
