Power of Communications

Hi all !

I am glad that the modern technology has made it possible to get access
to some of best professionals around the world. I truly believe that
it's a information super highway.
I would to take this opportunity to seek your assistance in drafting a
letter.
Before, I tell you what kind of letter, let me give you some background
information.
I was born and raised in India, did my degree in computer engineering,
got my first job with the largest engineering firm in India. The nature
of my job brought me into the Mecca of technology (USA) four years ago.
Over the years, my employer filed for my permanent residency and today I
am a permanent resident of the US.
As per the existing immigration rules, if I get  married to someone in
India (which I want to), it would take atleast four years for her to
come into the country and we live together.
One might think that , then I could go to India for four years. But
unfortunately, that's not simple either. There are two main reasons,
1. The maximum period of extended stay outside the US as a permanent
resident is two years.
2. If you stay more than that then your status of a permanent resident
is revoked.
So, I am left with the other two alternatives,
1. Stay separate for four years and keep traveling back and forth every
six months.
2. Don't get married to someone from India.
Neither of the two alternatives are appealing.
So, I have decided to write a letter to the President of US, Mr. Clinton
and request him to make some arrangements with the INS.
I believe that good written communication is a powerful way to get your
point across. Therefore, I need your assistance in drafting this letter.
If I get good responses from you, I am optimistic that it make a
difference.

This is what I have written so far,
Honorable President,
     America is composed of people from many nations all joined together
by
their common desire for the freedom and opportunity this country offers.
 I
came to this country several years ago for these very reasons.  Although
I
greatly miss my homeland and family, America has become my home.  As I
contemplate my future plans, I arrive at the point of my letter - life
is not
meant to be lived alone.  While I have been happy here, there has been
something missing - someone with whom to share my life.  Since I am a
permanent resident and not a US citizen, bringing a wife here from India
is
quite a burdensome and lengthy process.  Since your daughter Chelsea
recently
left home for Stanford, I feel confident you can relate to how painful
it is
to be separated from a loved one for a prolonged period of time.
Because the
immigration laws are so stringent and ever changing, it would take three
to
four years for my wife and I to be together in this country.
I recognize that it must be an massive effort to work for millions of
immigrants everyday, but I would appreciate if you could do something in
my case.
