Hyperion Software is currently seeking several technical writers and a
Documentation Manager at its Stamford headquarters. The technical writing
positions range from associate writer to senior writer and require the
following skills/experience:
? Excellent research and technical writing skills
? Previous experience working in a software company with Windows
products: Word and FrameMaker experience a plus
? PC skills required
? Familiarity with a documentation process
? Online help skills: RoboHelp experience a plus
? Strong editing skills
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
? Understanding of development process, including design, programming,
and quality assurance
? Time management skills
The Documentation Manager has the following requirements:
Essential Functions
- Individual will be responsible for delegating priorities of writing team,
managing both large and small documentation projects
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and retaining technical
writers
- Responsible for creating, tracking, and maintaining documentation
schedules
- Responsible for coordination with release services, QA, programming,
project & product management, and marketing to deliver quality end-user
documentation
- Responsible for overseeing production of documentation, helping to
coordinate with printers, editors, and writers.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience managing large documentation projects
Excellent project management experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven leadership and decision making abilities
Must understand documentation and development processes
Financials software experience a plus
Experience managing documentation translation projects a plus
EDUCATION
Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Tech Writing or related; Masters a
plus.
