Good post Mike,
I appreciate that you called me on being condescending in return
(that's not a dig). In addition, I have always known that tech-writers
need to be adaptable. But the technical savvy is only worthwhile when
the writer can write well. I, too, can build local area networks,
administer e. mail, use HTML, etc., etc, etc. But none of that would
be worth a lick if I wasn't a careful, conscientous writer.
And, in reply to another of your previous statements, I DO look at my
manuals as works of art. I consider myself to be a craftsman, not
somebody to merely submits manuals that are passable and usable.
You and I will never agree on some things. Nevertheless, thanks for
putting an intellectual spin on this fiasco.
