Word 97 TOC

A Word questions:

I do TOC from "template." I set this up while I was trying to learn
Word, so who knows what I did...

Anyway, there is a style in the TOC list that I don't want (Subtitle
Cover) that comes back every time I do an Insert Tables. I've deleted it
and saved the doc as a dot, I've turned off automatic update for the
template...where is this extra style coming from and why can't I get rid
of it?
