HELP WANTED

Your pardon for an on-topic and off-topic job posting for positions of
TRAINING ANALYST(CBT Development project) and TECHNICAL WRITER, but
then, maybe some of my fellow tech writers are aficionados of
instructional design and create training materials too.

I need some team mates for a fast paced software development department
for the largest global office supply company in the world (read the
only), Corporate Express. If these job descriptions interest you or fit

part of Metro Denver/Boulder region). The company is Corporate Express.
The department is Informational Systems. Both positions will be attached
to the software training team.

Training Analyst
The Training Analyst is primarily responsible for the development of
training materials and the delivery of training to internal end users
and corporate employees. The Training Analyst will also participate in
writing end user documentation and developing the on-line help system.
This position is challenged by the need to develop application training
materials including: business processes, job aides, training guides, and
practice exercises according to company standards in an application
development environment. This position is also challenged by the need to
create and maintain a simulated production environment (training
environment) for the training participants to use for practice. The
Training Analyst may also be involved in developing on-line assessment
tests to help gage participant understanding of the new software system.
The Training Analyst is a full time position reporting to the Training
Architect and serving the entire organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* College degree preferably in education, computer science, or related
field
* Minimum three years curriculum and training materials development
* Commitment to client service
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* High level knowledge in Windows 95 and Microsoft Office products
* Experience developing training curriculum in a software development
environment
* Experience developing self-directed training curriculum
* Experience with a variety of training delivery modes
* Experience with assessing training effectiveness and on-the-job
performance
* Prefer professional training in adult learning theory and
instructional design techniques
* Prefer distribution industry knowledge
Interpersonal Skill Requirements
* Ability to interact with all levels of project staff
* Ability to make recommendations on standards and procedures
* Must be flexible in a changing environment
* Must have a very outgoing personality
* Must be self directed
* Must be able to work well in a team environment
* Must be able assume a lead role on some projects
Role Responsibilities
* Develop training materials including: course outlines, job aides,
training guides, job process procedures, class exercises, training data
base, assessment tests and course evaluations
* Maintain training material updates
* Assist in the development of end user documentation and the on-line
help system
* Aid in developing an on-line assessment tests
* Participate with team members in determining alternatives to
instructor lead classroom training


Technical Writer
The Technical Writer is primarily responsible for the development of end
user system documentation and an on-line help system. The Technical
Writer will also participate in developing training materials and be
highly involved in determining a process to address release notes. This
position is challenged by the need to develop end user documentation and
an on-line help system according to company standards in an application
development environment. The Technical Writer is a full time position
reporting to the Training Architect and serving the entire organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* College degree preferably in education, computer science, or related
field
* Minimum three years curriculum and training material development
* Prefer some training material development experience
* Prefer experience with developing an on-line help system
* Prefer experience with Doc-To-Help (Documentaiton Studio)
* Prefer distribution industry knowledge
* Commitment to client service
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Must possess a high level of knowledge in Windows 3.1, 3.11 and
associated Microsoft Office products
