John Bell asked about an em dash in WORD TOCs.

John, if you don't find a straightforward way, there is a
little-known trick you can use.

You can change the whole TOC into editable text by

1. Selecting the whole TOC
2. Pressing the CTL-SHIFT-F9 key combination.

Now the pages are editable text. You can use find/replace
to replace just the end spaces with em spaces.

Use this editable text approach only as a last step before printing.
As far as WORD is concerned, these are doc pages now. If you
generate a new TOC, these changes won't be in it. The old text
TOC will still be present, giving you two printing TOCs.

This key combination is not covered in any of my WORD books.
_____________
John, are you the John Bell I worked with at Cray Research?
