coverting MPEG to AVI

Yes, I realize this is a weird question, considering you'd usually want to
go the other way. I specifically asked the company to digitize the video in
AVI format, but they've done it as MPEG. Of course I'm going to return the
CD, as they didn't do what we asked. But, before I do that, I'd like to know
if there's a way of converting the file to AVI. It's a mega huge file, about
80MB, and will be linked to a PowerPoint presentation (although if I can
covert to AVI, the file size will be cut down considerably, as I can edit
the video in PPT). I also need it done ASAP, if it can be done. It's a tall
order, I know, but if anyone knows how to do this, it'd be you guys...
