The thing in this thread that I'm having a problem with is why everybody
has to use Word (or whatever). If the pubs department or a portion thereof
prefer Frame for the polished quality of the final output, what's the
problem? Our department uses Frame on the Mac for the final copy, but goes
back and forth between Word (the original writing is done in Word) and
Frame. Most applications are designed these days for easy portability. Our
tech support folks use Word on the PC, we convert the Frame pubs to Word
for them with graphics included, and everybody's happy. (We did have a
minor insurrection from our DTP specialist when we switched from Interleaf
(Unix) to Frame (Mac), but it's OK now.)
