I haven't worked with screen captures for quite a while so my comparison may not
be very accurate. I seem to remember that *.bmp image files, like those created
by pressing the "Print Screen" key, are about 10 time larger than a *.tif image
file. I convert all my screen captures and digital photographs to the *.tif
format because of the much smaller file size. I then insert the *.tif image
into my word processing document (WordPerfect 7). I get satisfactory results
when the docs are printed (at 600 dpi or better) and my document size doesn't go
through the roof. I compared several image file formats before settling on this
method.

To All Screen-Capture Gurus:

Presently, I capture windows using the PrintScrn and Alt+PrintScrn
method (in Win 3.11 and WinNT 4.0), paste the images into Paintbrush,
and save them as *.bmp. I bring these images into Word for the user's
guide.

This method works fine for me, so I'm wondering what advantages, if
any, are there in using screen capture applications such as Hijaak?

Is there a site on the web that compares & contrasts different screen
capturing methods?

Thanks!
