Brad,

Thanks for your suggestion. To test it I moved the tabs about 1.5 cm in
from the right margin-better to be safe! Anyhow, it didn't make any
difference.

I have the text symbols turned on, and no tab marker appears at all in the
generated TOC. This is totally weird!

Sonja,

If you turn on the text symbols in your document, can you see the
tabs--they'll look like an overgrown ">" symbol? I would guess that your
text frame is just a tad bit smaller in your regular do than your TOC. If
you reset your right justified tab, the leaders should reappear.
