Here, the tech writers' names don't go on the documentation,
but on our software's splash screen along with the names of
all the engineers who worked on the program. (We're in the
engineering department.) It's appropriate, since we do the
on-line help.

Our documentation is a joint effort between assorted
engineers and tech writers. If we were to put any names
on the documentation, a good half of the engineering team
would have to be listed.

I think this approach provides the benefits of having
names on the documentation, and avoids all of the cons
mentioned.
