As the membership coordinator for the Lone Writer SIG, any complaints should
fall squarely on my head. When people contact me about membership, I
forward their names to the person who manages the listserv. I will check
with STC next week about people like Patricia who simply followed the rules
and anted up their $5. (Patricia, I did get an email from you last week
(5/29), but haven't had a chance to check into things--I should have
responded to you to that effect.)

We had some server problems in May (also I switched from Win95 to NT), so if
anyone has contacted me and hasn't heard back, please contact me again if
you're still interested.

As of now, this SIG consists of a listserv where lone writers can talk about
tech writing issues. Mainly it is there so that lone tech writers don't
have to feel so, well, lonely. At last count this SIG had nearly 200
members. The list is fairly active, with posts tending to come in spurts.
The Lone Writers did get together in Anaheim, so I've been told.

We have several potential projects planned, but few volunteers to do them.
My guess is that lone writers usually have their hands full doing their job
and six others.
