Screen vs. Window

What is the difference between these two terms? I've had no luck finding
anything on this topic in the archives. Here's what the Microsoft Manual of
Style (MSTP) says:

screen - refers to the graphic portion of a monitor
monitor - the hardware that includes the screen

OK...so what's a window? The MSTP doesn't give a definition.

I hate to be so picky, and I certainly don't want to start a holy war, but
I'm trying to put together an in-house style guide and need some opinions.
