TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I have a client in Cary, NC who needs a technical writer with 3-5 years of
software documentation experience. Their software product allows MIS
directors to view a variety of information about the hardware/software layout
of the company. How many desktops, what software is running on in, what
environment, disk space, etc.
Their product is released in multiple platforms (Windows, Windows95, NT, Unix,
VAX, etc.) and new versions are sent market every 3-6 months. Currently, most
of the documents are produced using Word and advanced Word techniques, however
they want to begin delivering more information through FrameMaker.
The ideal candidate will have some experience with FrameMaker, although at
this point it doesn't require a "super-user". If you have been "self-taught"
in FrameMaker, this may be the position for you.
Interested candidates please forward a copy of your resume (e-mail preferred)
