My chapter titles have a hidden number. That is, I have a character
format called "Invisible." It sets the point size to 2pt and the
spread to -100.0%. I use the Numbering page of the Paragraph
Designer to apply the Invisible format to the number.

Voila! The chapter number is included in cross-references!
