Hello!

Just a quick request after a fruitless search on the archives. A fellow
tech writer who does not have access to this list was interested in
knowing the four levels to interactive electronic technical documents.
He was saying that Class I would be simply digitizing the document
(e.g., create a PDF without links), Class II would be introducing links
to the electronic doc, Class III would be including links and video, etc.
However, he wasn't sure what exactly the specifications were for each
class, nor could he tell me where he came across this specific Class
concept.

I have to confess that I am not academically savvy about technical
communication, and didn't have the slightest idea where to tell him to
look for this type of information. He needs it to support a proposal
that he's working on for creating an interactive electronic reference
manual.

If anyone could tell me what direction I could point him in, I would
appreciate it. Please reply to kim -dot- heidt -at- iac -dot- honeywell -dot- com as I get the
digest version of the techwr-l list. Thank you!!!

Kim
