A while ago, I posted a question to the list regarding a "blurb" that I had
to develop to outline the Tech Writer's role in appdev. The members of the
list really helped me to massage what I had into a fantastic paragraph (see
below)! Now I need to develop another paragraph, which deals with the role
of the Courseware Developer in End User Training. Any ideas?

The Technical Communications Consultant will serve as the user's
representative on the development team. As such, the TechComm Consultant
will provide input on usability during the design phase, perform ongoing
informal testing, and provide feedback on interface functioning. The
TechComm consultant will provide GUI design consultation. He/she will
participate in development of the terms list and create any messages
displayed to users. Using the software itself, client specifications, and
any user and engineer requirements as a guide, the Technical Communications
Consultant will be responsible for creating and/or contributing to the
development of online help files, other relevant online documentation, and
printed user manuals. The Technical Communications Consultant will determine
the methodologies that will be used for both the production and delivery of
online and written materials. When possible, the Technical Communications
Consultant will participate in site beta tests to gain knowledge of the
manner in which customers use both the software and the corresponding online
and hard copy documentation. If training is involved, the Technical
Communications Consultant will work with Alpha's Certified Instructors to
develop customized courseware for the new applications.
