I'd find a way to really laugh at the people who's whole mission in
life is to find trivial spelling errors and minor grammatical errors in
other people's writing.
After many years of teaching English, I usually found that our weakest
teachers were the ones so engrossed in this kind of trivia. I've also
discovered in my brief career as a technical writer that the same
principal holds for them as well--the weakest writer on the staff is
ALWAYS the one to focus strictly on the mundane and trivial spelling a
grammatical errors.
If someone can't figure out numerous ways to spell things or to express
things, they aren't that creative.
Let the error finders do the editing--spell checkers will do the same
job, so it's mostly a routine, mechanical task. Editing is pretty easy
work to do. It's the creating and writing that is difficult.
