Another issue is the hanging word at the end of a line. I
try to avoid such artifacts as they confuse the reader. If
you are vigilant, most can be fixed before publication. The
popular DTP programs should make automatic checks for these. But
so far the response has been "It's all too hard for us." And,
given the sloppy work all around us, would anyone notice? It
remains to be seen....
