Everything you've ever wanted to know...and more..about the insides of
machines that give you change for a bank note.

One general question: Where are all those wonderful sounding technical data
bases like Termium to be found? I looked but couldn't find them. What's the
magic key?

What exactly do the British call a "SERVICE-WERKSTATT"? (place where the
machines are taken to be fixed).

And what do they call the people who fix them? Service personnel? Technicians?

Is a VERTEILER a distributor or a supplier?
(for the components of the machine=

Are RIEMEN belts? (in the machine)

What are:

WEICHENMAGNET (soft magnets?), KÄMME (combs?)

What do you call the ENDKASSE in English, which is the place where the machine
puts your money? Delivery box?

What would STAUS (plural) be in a machine like this? jamming? But in the
plural?

SCHIEBEBLECH

KASSETTENTRÄGERS cassette carrier?

HAUBE: Is that hub or housing? I think housing

BANKNOTENVERARBEITUNG: I know what they're talking about, but what do they
call it? The bank note processing unit? bank note processor? note processor?

ROTATIONSPRINZIPS : rotation principle?
Here they're talking about the practice of rotating the units (not the
mechanics of them) instead of really fixing them properly. Like rotation in a
baseball lineup.

FEHLERBESCHREIBUNG

They mean in the software or DATENMODULE as they call it. Is the latter
software? Or data module?
They mean by FEHLERBESCHREIBUNG : getting a picture of what's wrong. But how
do you say it?

Same for FEHLERSUCHE: precise search for the source of the failure?

DIAGNOSEPLATINE diagnostic card? diagnostic disc?

NEUESTEN STAND :. Is there a technical way of saying this? latest version?
Refers to the software (I suppose) that allows the machine to recognize which
bills are good and which not. This software or whatever is not state of the
art, says the text. But I don't think state of the art is the appropriate
register in this context.

Thank you one and all for any help. Deadline is this Wednesday at noon.
