I don't know what's in the archives, but I'd suggest that the style you
apply first
is a "paragraph" style, then the second style you apply is a "character"
style.

Subject: Applying two styles in a single paragraph in Word

Hi All: I know the subject of applying two styles in a single paragraph in
Word was discussed a few months ago and someone posted a solution (which I
thought I would remember). Unfortunately, I don't have access to the Web so
I can't search the archives, and I have searched the MS Word Help but have
found nothing.

If someone saved the message that stated how one can apply two styles in a
single paragraph in Word, would you please forward it to me? The solution
I'm looking for did not require a 2-cell table.

Thank you for your help and have a good day, Laurel
