There've certainly been enough times that I learned an interesting tidbit
about software (or anything else documented well, for that matter) because
of something that caught my eye as I was flipping to another place in the
printed manual. Online docs seldom provide this sort of opportunity.

Try tossing a manual in the air, and start reading at the page it lands
open on... chances are good, you may discover something new!
