Hi, Deborah,

What are you calling industries? Software vs hardware vs research vs
academic, etc? Or, computer telephony software versus banking
software? And a lot of companies use technical writers for internal
purposes, too. You might, in a single large company, have tech writers
documenting internal policies and procedures, others documenting
software, others writing courseware and/or training materials, and yet
others doing technical marketing literature (white papers, technical
proposals, etc.).

Let us know where you're going with this question and I bet you'll get
lots of feedback.
