In my CBT course, we used _Computer-Based Instruction: Methods &
Development_, by Stephen M. Alessi & Stanley R. Trollip (Prentice Hall,
1991).

Although the software it discusses is now outdated, the book is mostly
design theory (it covers strategies for creating tutorials, drills,
simulations, instructional games, & tests). I found it very helpful.

Can someone recommend a book to me concerning the design strategies for
creating CBT/multimedia tutorials?

TIA!
