Megan: This is one option for you: Build your main Help project and add all
of the Word files to the project. Then, build a separate Help project for
each developer, and add their specific files to that project. In other
words, you'll be sharing files among projects.

(Note: You can share Word files among projects. To do this, you don't make
a copy of the Word file. You use the same file for both. When you change
the file contents in one project, all you have to do is recompile the other
Help project and you have the latest updates in that other Help.
Information about sharing files is in the Robohelp manual.)

So.....you'll have your main Help project and then you'll have the
developers using their individualized Help when they are writing. When the
developers are working, they can save and RTF their files. If they are
working on any of the layout and design, they have the ability to compile
their Help and see what it looks like online. When they have completed
something, they tell you and then you can make any final changes before you
compile the main Help system.

All of the Help projects will use the same templates. The project document
for each Help system will use the Robohelp.dot template, and all of the
other Word documents will use the Robortf.dot template. (If you are
creating Help for Windows 3.1, your templates will have different names.)

When you're building the Help files for the developers, you don't have to
manually recreate all of the secondary windows and buttons. Just open the
main Help's HPJ file in Notepad. Then, open another instance of Notepad and
open the HPJ file for one of the other Help systems. Copy the code for the
secondary windows and buttons and paste it (in the right place) in the
other HPJ files.

This may sound like a lot of work if you've never build any Help systems,
but it's really a piece of cake.
