Ready to reach the global market? Jump into localization with
a three-part teleclass program co-sponsored by Rose Hill and
the Willamette Valley Chapter of the Society for Technical
Communication, and taught by the experts at Lingo Systems.

Today's market is global in scope and instantly available,
but only if you know how to reach the buyers around the
world. With proper planning and leveraging of your efforts,
you can reach these foreign markets efficiently and directly
though the localization of your products, documents, and web site.

"Localization" is the process of customizing your messages
and your products for consumers in a target market. More
than language translation, localization involves converting
the metaphors, phrases, and stories of your company and
your product into the metaphors and phrases used by the
target population. Localization allows the target population
to form the impression that your company is speaking directly
to them and that your products were created especially for them.

Internationalizing your product can reward your company
greatly. Hewlett-Packard reports that nearly 60 percent
of the company's revenues are earned outside the United
States. In addition, localization may lower costs. A
software manufacturer found that nearly 50 percent of
all their support costs came from consumers in foreign
markets who could not understand the English documentation.

Now you can learn how to effectively plan and manage your
localization projects from the industry-recognized experts
from Lingo Systems. Engaged by many Fortune 100 and Fortune
500 companies to provide localization services into over
43 languages, Lingo Systems has literally "written the book"
on localization. Specifically, they are the authors of the
IEEE Computer Society book, "The Guide to Translation and
Localization", which every participant of these teleclasses
will receive as a parting gift. In addition, Lingo Systems
is a participant in the industry committee to establish
quality guidelines for localization, ASTM sub-committee F15.

Let the experts at Lingo Systems help you:
o Understand the localization process and terminology
o Leverage your localization efforts across many projects
o Leverage your localization budget
o Improve the quality of your localization projects
o Shorten the time to market for your localized products
and documents

A teleclass is like a virtual classroom. All you need is a
standard telephone. At the scheduled time for your class,
you dial in to the bridge telephone number, as do your
fellow participants and the teleclass leaders. Everyone
calls the same number at the same time and is instantly
connected. No operator assistance is required nor is
conference call capability on your telephone required.

Our teleclass format respects your desire to learn, while
allowing you the most efficient use of your time -- no more
traveling across the country, the state, or the city. A
specially trained teleclass facilitator, Rose Hill, assists
the instructor in maintaining a quiet environment where your
participation is encouraged. Each teleclass is one-hour in length.
