JOB: Contract technical writer in Rockville, Maryland

Job Title: Contract Technical Writer

Network Associates, Inc. in Rockville, Maryland is looking for a contract
technical writer. This is a full-time, on-site position. The writer will be
part
of a publications team documenting firewalls and other network
security products.

Qualifications
*       Three or more years experience as a technical writer developing end
user and system administrator documentation
*       Strong verbal and written communication skills
*       Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*       Recent experience with FrameMaker
*       Knowledge of the Internet, networking, and security
*       HTML experience
*       Experience with UNIX systems and/or Windows NT 4.0

Scope of Work
*       Develop plans for assigned documents from work conception through
delivery to production.
*       Create, edit, and proofread documents and/or online help according
to corporate standards.
*       Represent Documentation at internal meetings such as Change Review
and Product Status meetings.

Job Responsibilities
*       Obtain necessary information from available documents and subject
matter experts.
*       Create hard copy documentation and online help.
*       Create necessary artwork.
*       Guide documents and/or online help through review and production
cycles.
