I just wanted to plug Interleaf a little by saying that forcing each chapter to
end on an odd page has never been a problem for me. Just create a component in
your template which always forces a new page, and add it at the end if you need
it. Nothing easier!

I think that new chapters starting on the left makes the document look crowded,
and looks like a mistake--however, that's only a personal reaction. I suppose
if everybody started doing it I'd get used to it.
