In response to several questions...

After the list moves to a new host (this will be
clearly and thoroughly announced--you won't be able
to miss it), there will be charges for posting ads
to the list. (This hasn't started yet.)

In general, posting information about commercial products
and services will be considered posting ads and charged accordingly.
Job postings are going to be marginal and I haven't quite
figured out the best way to phrase it. In brief, if you hear
that your company will be hiring a new writer, you're welcome
to post the ad (or send to me for posting) at no charge.
Your HR department would probably be able to do the same.
However, if they turn it over to a recruiter (e.g.,
Joe Smith of Smith's Staffing Services), he'll have to pay
to post it.

We'll no longer provide a free forum for people
to post commercial ads (that they'd have to pay for in another
medium), although we will try not to interfere with the
free flow of job ads.

Ads rates are listed at http://www.raycomm.com/techwhirl/listad.html

Yell with questions,
Eric
