Methinks you might want to look at the copyright FAQ:

If the writers still own the copyright on stuff he plagiarized, they
have legal recourse available. It may not be necessary to actually sue,
just talk to the publisher and/or the employer. Both are likely to be
seriously upset. Bubba is in deep doo-doo, as he deserves.

If the company owns the copyright on work done for them (which seems
quite likely), then the question is whether Bubba went through channels
and got permission to use the material as he did. If not, the company
could easily sue and/or fire him for this.
