RoboHelp subscription plan

My company is about to purchase RoboOffice. I called BlueSky to get pricing information and the sales rep mentioned a subscription plan option that is $499 US a year (it made me wince as I converted into CDN Dollars). Apparently, the advantage of the subscription plan is that you get free upgrades--a $1500 value last year and continued phone support as you would have the most recent version.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has purchased the subscription plan. If you have, do you think it was a worthwhile investment?
